Radio New Zealand Have Excellent PR

Avid readers – and I’m not convinced there are any, but on the off chance – may have noticed an angry post from me about Radio New Zealand that went up over the weekend. I stand by some of what I said, but I’ve been rung by the Radio New Zealand Communications Head who has corrected me on other parts – so impressive PR from Radio NZ to have picked up on it and dealt with it politely. Here goes:

1) There was a projector left on all weekend as I said, however it wasn’t Radio New Zealand’s. Fair enough, mea culpa – I apologise. Whoever it was who left that on though – you deserve to be hassled, I just don’t know who you are.

2) I was overly harsh in that post, that’s also a fair call. I think I cussed more in that post than any other I’ve done. In my defense, I’d been up since 3am because of their chillers. But still – I apologise for the tone as well.

3) With regard to the running of their chillers, I still don’t accept their argument that they only run when needed – or more precisely, I think they must be doing something some nights and not others that causes them to be needed. However, I’m being rung by a tech staff member later today who I’m promised will explain it to me. I’m happy to admit I’m wrong if that’s the case.

So, Radio New Zealand (who I’m now sure will be reading this!) I hope no hard feelings over this. Please accept my apology for the mistakes I made, and please also consider the issues that I’m raising.
